Hi Mamas,
Here we are in July and boy oh boy it has already been quite a hot summer! We will do our best to hit
all of the shady spots during the heat, but please do remember to bring lots of water, sunscreen and
hats for you and your wee ones.
Here is some quick info for this week and month....
Due to the 4th of July holiday, there will be no class Thursday or Friday. The Rose Bowl just gets too
crazy during this time, so lets stay away!!
The Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena has free outdoor concerts Wednesday - Sundays. Check them out
and enjoy the warm evenings under the stars listening to all sorts of music. Wednesdays are kid's
programs, but almost all of the nights are kid friendly. The Memorial Park Gold Line station stops
right there, so if you can, take the train as that is always fun for the kids.
Family Morning Out Hike! - Saturday July 12, 2008 9:00 a.m. Lets take a hike down into Angeles
National Forest and hit up a cool swimming hole for the kids. Strollers may not work the whole time,
so I would suggest backpacks or just let the toddlers walk. We will meet by the JPL back entrance on
Windsor in Altadena (same place we held class a while back). Just take Woodbury West until you
come to the Arroyo blvd/Windsor intersection and go right. The trail will be dead ahead after a short
drive and there is parking on the left.
Mama's Happy Hour - Tuesday July 22, 2008 6:30 p.m. @ Lucky Baldwin's in Pasadena on Raymond.
This place is very casual and great for hot summer nights. It's a great pub (something we haven't
done as we seem to do a lot of wine bars!) with a huge selection of beers and great fish n' chips!
For those of you that haven't heard, I have taken a part-time teaching job at Bella's school for next
year. I will be starting in September and I will be team teaching 6th grade with another Mama Mia
Mama, Cecily! We are both very excited. Mama Mia Fitness will stay up and running, but the
schedule will change a bit. Starting in September, classes will be held M, W, F with Circuit Training
on M & F and Pilates on W. The 9:30 time will remain. Monthly memberships will drop in price to
$55.00 starting in September. I will teach on M, Alyson on W, and Boon on F. Rose Bowl run
gatherings will remain on Tuesdays and you all can add Thursdays if you wish ;).
You all have been so wonderful to me and my girls and become such a huge part of my life that I
can't just let you go. Your Mama Mia community will stay in tact, so don't think your getting out of any
workouts!!!! HA HA HA! Much love to all of you!
